POSTER CONTESTS Fall 2014
#1
Hello Northern Kentucky – District 6 schools-
Welcome back to the new school year! Let me introduce myself, my name is Nancy Wood. I am the Public Information Officer for District 6 which includes Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton and Robertson Counties. I am also the Adopt – A- Highway Coordinator. I wanted to share this opportunity with your students – the Adopt-A-Highway Poster Contest. I would like to offer this opportunity to your school. Please present this to the art teacher or science teachers at your school. The AAH contest can be used as an educational tool by informing and educating the damaging effects of litter.
Last year there were over 1,340 entries from across the state! Of the 170 schools in the District 6 area there were entries from 17 schools.
I love bragging about District 6, we had 9of the 12 winners statewide! (Yeah baby!)
The first-place winner in each of four categories receives a $100 gift card, while second-, and third-place winners each receive a $50 gift card. All the winners receive framed prints of their posters. Awards were presented at a luncheon ceremony (to be announced at a later date).
This year’s AAH Poster Contest deadline is Tuesday, September 30, 2014.
